File Preparation and Execution

2 / Launch SMARTCARVE software

The icon is in the desktop

You can import the following extensions:  DXF, AI, EPS, JPG, BMP

4 / Scatter your imported files

Ungroups all lines in your file.

Each color corresponds to a setting of power and speed.

Select a line and RIGHT-click, “Apply to pick object” on the color you want to select.

7 / Define power and speed settings

Each color has a Speed (mm/s) and Power (%) value. These values are unique for each type of material.

A simple rule: first engrave, second cut interior shapes and for last cut outlines.

Without anything selected, RIGHT-click on desktop and click on “Optimize path”

The software will optimize the toolpath, saving you time.

You can visualize what the laser machine will cut. This is extremely helpful to guarantee everything is running OK.

The carve out button will bring up the carve out menu.

Before pressing Carve Out, make sure the machine is prepared to cut. Cover is down and origin is set.

2 / Let the machine complete the homing process

Everytime you turn on the machine, the laser head will move to the homing point.

Use the parallel beams to align your workpiece with the laser head.

Using the up and down arrows, leave 5 mm of distance between the nozzle and the workpiece.

The UPPER RIGHT CORNER in Smartcarve corresponds to the origin of the laser machine.

Using the arrow pad, move the laser head to the point you want to begin running your file.
